The cream or yellow-green Holothrix secunda flowers in picture represent the typical flower colour. The pair of lateral petals pointing up are fairly close together on this plant, throwing a tiny victory sign, while the five thinner lip lobes spread widely, as if they need to fake a daisy-shape. Theres one finger wrong in the lip, but if any of these digits might serve as an opposing thumb, it would be the petals, again one too many.

The short sepals closing around the petals and lip are green as the ovary. The ovary is curved, or rather humped over the whitish spur (Liltved and Johnson, 2012).
