Corymbium africanum and beetles

Some hairy beetles are dining on purple Corymbium africanum flowers during October. They walk on the flat-topped, elevated inflorescence like cattle grazing in a meadow. When pollinator mass is less than what floret and its pedicel can bear, no harm is done by a little trampling. Both parties are left satisfied, their respective missions relating to hunger and pollination achieved (Manning, 2007; iNaturalist; https://www.fernkloof.org.za).
