This Corymbium africanum plant, commonly known as plampers, is adorning young veld, meaning land fairly recently burned; in this case the slope next to Sir Lowry’s Pass during October. Expect the best plampers blooming in the first few seasons after fire.

The strap-shaped leaves are narrower on some plants. The inflorescences are borne a little higher than the tallest leaves. Flower colour differences include paler purple to white as well as pink (Manning, 2007; iNaturalist; https://www.fernkloof.org.za).
