Pseudoselago spuria narrow green leaves

The leaves of Pseudoselago spuria are narrow; toothed near their tips. Lower down on the stems the leaves tend to be opposite where there are more of them; higher up they are alternate and sparsely distributed. The lower leaves on the plant in picture are longer than the upper ones. The leaves tend to curve inwards towards their tips. Axillary tufts of smaller leaves sometimes occur.

The specific name of spuria may superficially suggest leaves shaped like spurs, but the Latin, spurius, means false or illegitimate, suggesting a false resemblance, probably amounting to the same thing. An earlier name of the species was P. dentata (Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005; iSpot; Andrew, 2012).
