    The corolla of a Silene crassifolia subsp. crassifolia flower may be white as in picture or yellow. The five petals are bilobed, split halfway down the length and narrow at the base. The claws or stalk-like bases of the petals are enclosed inside the calyx tube. The flower has ten stamens, mostly covered inside the tube, but some visible in the flower mouth in picture with the branched style.

    Flowering happens from midspring to midsummer (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iSpot).
