The pinkish purple flower of Leipoldtia schultzei has an erect cone of numerous staminodes and stamens in the flower centre, around which the oblong petals spread. Some stamens escape from the cone and also diverge a little. The small oblong anthers in picture are about white, the filaments petal-coloured.

The straight petals widen slightly towards their rounded or pointed tips. The flower diameter varies from 1 cm to 3 cm (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Smith, et al, 1998; iNaturalist).
