The pale pink whorl of petals on these Dracophilus dealbatus flowers may also be a darker pinkish purple on other specimens. Flowering occurs almost throughout the year. The thick column of massed stamens in the flower centre is topped with a rich yellow of pollen-laden anthers.

The rounded tips of five rather long sepals that can be seen protruding beyond the petal tips are a sure sign that this is not a four-sepalled Juttadinteria plant. Flowers of the similar Juttadinteria genus can, apart from sepal count, be distinguished from Dracophilus by their opening in the morning, while Dracophilus flowers open in the late afternoon and into the night. A honey scent is exuded by flowers of all four the Dracophilus species (Smith, et al, 1998).
