The simple, alternate and short-stalked Moquiniella rubra leaves vary considerably in size on their brittle, woody stems. The leaves are elliptic, pale green and smooth. Leaf dimensions are from about 4 cm to 6 cm long and 1,5 cm to 2 cm wide.
In picture, the leaves are mainly fascicled on small spur-branchlets. Some inconspicuous leaf veining is visible against the light (Euston-Brown and Kruger, 2023; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Shearing and Van Heerden, 2008; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist).
