    The lanceolate leaflets of the compound Mundulea sericea subsp. sericea leaves have short leaflet stalks (petiolules), as well as short leaf stalks (petioles).

    Covered in pale grey, silky hairs, the lower leaflet surfaces are even paler than the upper ones, the midribs protruding below.

    The flat, beige pods widen and thicken where the seeds inside are positioned. Their halves twist when they dehisce, releasing the seeds (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Van Wyk and Van Wyk, 1997).
