Pavetta lanceolata flowers in various stages of development form a typical branched head, from 4 cm to 7 cm long, on a terminal inflorescence-supporting branch. The buds appear club-shaped in the photo, the corolla lobes first spread, then recurve sharply in old flowers.
The corolla tube of this species is about 7 mm long. The conspicuous long styles (up to 2,5 cm) protrude far, turning green on old flowers with withered corollas (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Schmidt, et al, 2002).
