Pergularia daemia subsp. daemia leaves

The simple leaves of Pergularia daemia subsp. daemia are opposite on long, straight and hairy petioles, sometimes purple.

Broadly heart-shaped, oval or nearly rounded leaves taper to acutely pointed tips. The leaf base is lobed, its margins entire. The main veins of the leaves radiate from the leaf base, branching and meandering on their way to the margins. Upper leaf surfaces are nearly hairless, the lower ones velvety. Leaf dimensions vary from 2,5 cm to 15 cm in length by 3 cm to 13 cm in width.

There are some shiny and grass leaves in the photo as well. The heart-shaped dull green ones belong to the P. daemia (Pooley, 1998; Van Wyk and Gericke, 2000; Germishuizen and Fabian, 1982; iSpot; Wikipedia).
