Convolvulus farinosus fruit

    Author: Ivan Lätti

The fruit of Convolvulus farinosus is a globose, purplish capsule that dehisces when ripe. Fine surface lines cover the shiny fruits converging at the style base.

In picture the five sepal lobes jut outwards around it, pointed and curled-in laterally like antelope ears. The style protrudes conspicuously from the fruit tips in picture (Pooley, 1998; Moriarty, 1997; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist; http://tropical.theferns.info).
