The simple leaves of Gnidia tenella usually ascend stalkless and decussate, every opposite pair perpendicular to the previous one.
The leaf-shape is ovate, tapering to obtusely pointed or somewhat rounded tips, the margins entire. Two lateral veins emerge, sometimes conspicuously from the base flanking the midrib, curving in to the tip across the hairy, grey-green blades. The leaf-base is whitish against the dark, hairy stem in picture.
The flowers grow in stem-tip clusters in groups of two to four. They are long-tubed and cream from nearly white to pale yellow. Flowering happens from late autumn to spring (Mustart, et al, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
