Gazania rigida open disc florets

Tall, exserted Gazania rigida disc floret inner parts tower in the flowerhead centre in picture. The numerous, small disc florets are bisexual, while some right in the centre of the disc may be sterile. The anther bases are arrow-like, the styles unbranched (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2007; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
