The flowerheads of Gazania krebsiana may sometimes have dark central bands along the length of the ray florets as seen here. The rounded plant growing a dense tuft of leaves and flower stalks may produce many solitary flowerheads in its long flowering season, usually from late winter through spring and summer.

This plant was photographed in the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden in June (Manning, 2007).
