Two Geranium drakensbergensis buds are growing on long, curving pedicels well above the leaves in this umbel.
The ridged, ovate sepals are already exceeded in length by the elongating, purple petals of the bigger bud. In both buds the attenuated tips of the sepals protrude in mucro-like tip extensions.
About four, small, narrow bracts spread from the base of the umbel. The peduncle below them appears faintly hairy (iNaturalist; http://pza.sanbi.org).
