Grewia hexamita leaf shine

Grewia hexamita has reddish brown bark that is smooth and covered in conspicuous lenticels. The leaves are alternate, conspicuously asymmetric from the base, tapering on one side, lobed on the other. They are oblong elliptic, three-veined from the base with bright green, shiny, hairless upper surfaces. The lower leaf surface has dense yellowish hairs.

The flowers are golden yellow, large, the diameter being up to 5 cm, growing in clusters of up to three flowers. They have ample clusters of yellow stamens. The sepals are longer than the curved back petals and are yellow on the insides, hairy and green on the outsides (Coates Palgrave, 2002).
