Grewia flava

This narrow-leaved plant may also be Grewia flava although it appears different from other specimens posted here. The erect leaves are more or less oblong in shape.

The species is similar to G. bicolor, which carries its leaves drooping or horizontally, the surfaces shiny and darker, the blades more elliptic. G. microthyrsa has oblong leaves, but creamy white or pale yellow flowers.

Leaf margins here are finely toothed as in G. flava, but that is not a distinctive characteristic for the species. The leaf tips vary from rounded, square, notched or tapering in an obtuse angle (Van Wyk and Van Wyk, 2002; Coates Palgrave, 2002).
