The simple leaves of Euclea tomentosa grow spiralling up the stems on short petioles.
The leaf-shape is ovate, obovate or oblong, the tip tapering or rounded, the base tapering. The margins are entire and thickened, straight or slightly undulating, mostly not rolled under. Leaf dimensions are 3 cm to 4 cm long and 1,5 cm wide.
The blades are grey-green to dull green above, hairy to white-haired below, hard and leathery. The midrib and lateral veins are prominent on the lower surface (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
