    The inflorescence of Gasteria excelsa can be large and branched into several racemes lavishly laden with flowers as the picture shows. There are two well developed separate flower stalks visible, the result of a plant well fed during the preceding growing season. This plant has the benefit of living at Kirstenbosch.
