The brown fruit follicle of Microloma sagittatum is pointed, borne solitary and pendulous. Cylindrical and spindle shaped, it tapers to both ends, more so to the tip. The fruit surface is smooth and hairless, here in shades of brown and soft grey purple.
The Afrikaans common name of bokhorinkies (little antelope horns) relates to the fruit shape (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist).
