This young Bulbine cepacea inflorescence has many more flowers to come from the dull green, ellipsoid buds above the flowers.
On the open flowers the green stripes down the middle of each spread or recurved tepal, and the bearded filament of each erect stamen create a busy impression of the flowering midsection.
The oldest flowers at the base of the raceme are by now committed to fruiting, closed again like the buds. The ellipsoidal fruit capsules will be upright, spilling seeds slowly once ripe and open (Manning, 2007; iNaturalist).
