The upper stem or branch tip inflorescences of Pelargonium suburbanum subsp. bipinnatifidum are umbel-shaped clusters comprising up to six pale cream or pinkish purple flowers. Both peduncles and pedicels are faintly hairy. The closed buds in picture are narrowly cylindrical and pointed, the red ridges on the sepals characteristic of the species.
The rounded petals of the upper pair are much bigger than the two or three narrow ones forming the lower lip of each zygomorphic or laterally symmetrical flower. There are scarlet or purple, sometimes branched vein lines or nectar guides at the bases of the upper petals.
Flowering happens from winter to after midsummer. The photo was taken during October (Marais, (Ed.), 2017; Manning, 2007; Mustart, et al, 1997; iNaturalist; https://www.fernkloof.org.za).
