The two to four leaves of Satyrium coriifolium are elliptic or oval to heart-shaped, the biggest ones clustered at the base of the stem. The leathery blades spread, purple-spotted where the leaf bases sheathe the stem, the blades in picture paler on the outside surfaces. The tips of the leaves are acutely pointed.
The specific name, coriifolium, is derived from the Latin words corium meaning skin or hide and folium meaning leaf, referring to the leathery leaf texture (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Liltved and Johnson, 2012; Manning, 2007; Moriarty, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; Andrew, 2017; iNaturalist).
