The nodding Glumicalyx lesuticus inflorescence is compact, as are those of several other members of the genus. The bulging, ovoid sepals around the base overlap, appearing as if they share protective duties for the tubular corollas, or at least for the lower parts where the ovaries reside.

Some G. lesuticus flowers have yellow petal lobes (the inside surfaces). G. nutans is similar, the corolla tubes protruding further than in this species (iNaturalist; JSTOR; https://powo.science.kew.org).
