The trifoliolate leaves of Leobordea divaricata have petioles (are stalked), but the three leaflets have no petiolules (are stalkless). The blades are ovate to elliptic with pointed tips, sometimes maybe also lanceolate. The margins are entire and the blades fold inwards along the midribs. The dull green, yellow green or blue green leaflets are slightly hairy to very white-haired. There are leaf-like stipules at the petiole bases (Van Wyk and Malan, 1997; iNaturalist; https://tropical.theferns.info).
