Adenium oleifolium leaves and flower tube

Adenium oleifolium leaves and flower tube
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The long, narrow Adenium oleifolium leaves are erect and leathery. They end quite abruptly in pointed tips. The entire margins along the leaf channel walls are paler than the often unevenly grey-green surfaces of the faintly felted blades.

The wide corolla tubes have parallel bars inside, here orange, ending at the mouth. The spreading and slightly curving petal lobes are in picture whiter near the margins. Some lobes show a slight fold down the middle. The rolled under lobe margins suggest deeper colour, casually concealed. There are slight, whitish ridges at the flower tube top between the lobe bases (Van Rooyen and Van Rooyen, 2019; Frandsen, 2017; iNaturalist; https://pza.sanbi.org).
