The thickly succulent leaves of Lampranthus fugitans are paired and erect, three-sided due to their distinct keels, ending in short, tapering tips, here red. Young leaf pairs face each other close together, coloured pale grey green. Older leaves turn yellower green and diverge somewhat. Some leaf columns show faint incurving (Smith, et al, 1998; iNaturalist).
