Sparaxis roxburghii, commonly known as the collar satinflower and previously scientifically as Synnotia roxburghii, is a cormous perennial that reaches 25 cm to 40 cm in height.
The sword-shaped leaves grow in a basal, closely set fan. The blades are finely veined and the midribs are prominent.
The species distribution is restricted in the Western Cape to a part of the Olifants River Valley between Citrusdal and Clanwilliam, the plants rare and localised.
The habitat is fynbos, shale derived, stony and clayey. The habitat population is deemed critically endangered, due to habitat loss from fruit farming (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
