These white Diospyros whyteana flowers are thought to be male, growing on a tree that therefore would produce male flowers. Diospyros is a dioecious genus, the sexes occurring on different plants but this separation is not always consistent in this genus.
The recurving petals in view are broad, quite floral and overlap here in an about continuous ring. The creamy parts visible in the middle are probably anthers.
The older leaves below the flowers are dark green and glossy, the younger ones above them paler, showing short petioles, hairy white margins and visible venation (Venter, 2012; Coates Palgrave, 2002; Schmidt, et al, 2002; Pooley, 1993; iNaturalist).
