Ledebouria socialis grows three to five very variable leaves annually in a ground level rosette. The hairless leaves are lance-shaped to triangular. Dark green or purple to brown blotches are scattered on a silvery background on the upper surfaces. The lower surfaces are green or reddish purple.

Leaf dimensions are 5 cm to 7 cm long and 1 cm to 1,5 cm wide (Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist; https://pza.sanbi.org).
