Pelargonium coronopifolium

Pelargonium coronopifolium, previously known scientifically as P. angustissimum, is a hardy, erect shrublet resprouting multistemmed from its underground rootstock, reaching heights from 6 cm to 40 cm. The stems are covered in short, stiff hairs. The lower stems are rough below the leaves from persistent stipule bases.

The species distribution is in the Western Cape from the Gifberg, the Bokkeveld Mountains and Ceres to Worcester.

The habitat is arid fynbos on sandstone slopes. The habitat population is deemed of least concern early in the twenty first century (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; Wikipedia; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
