Pelargonium coronopifolium blooms in habitat from spring to early autumn. This Cederberg floral display confirms a stand covering a fair patch of sandy soil in the sparse fynbos shrubbery.

Rubbing shoulders as an accepted equal citizen with hardy, woody shrubs in this veld is easier for the often-softer Pelargonium, because of its woody rootstock that contributes during hard times. The short hairs pressed against most above-ground plant parts add to the aridity adaptation capability of the plant (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; Wikipedia).
