The six tepals of a Romulea rosea flower can also be brightly coloured as in the photo. The deep pink, sometimes purplish to bluish pink, while on the flowers of some plants pale to nearly white, extend in the upper tepal parts above the yellow cups. Arranged in two concentric whorls of three each, the tepals are acutely pointed, here not yet spreading as in fully open flowers. Dark markings are present where the two colours meet inside, central lines extending down the middle of each tepal. There is a hint of strong dark lines on the outside of the corolla. The orange anthers cohere inside the corolla cup.
A glimpse of quill-like leaves is present (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2009; iNaturalist).
