An older or mature Leucospermum cuneiforme flowerhead has lost its yellow colouring, turned orange on styles, pollen presenters and even parts of the collapsed perianth segments lying haphazardly below. Some incurving styles are even red here on their lower parts. More colour variations in styles are presented among plant of this species. The styles are from 2,8 cm to 5,5 cm long.

The tips of the styles are the pollen presenters, short and cone-shaped. They later become or serve as the stigmas, a male to female role change in particular plant parts.

The upper stems are purplish brown or grey, clearly visible, as the leaves are so far apart, and narrowly wedge-shaped in their basal parts (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Rebelo, 1995; iNaturalist; https://pza.sanbi.org).
