The fine Microloma tenuifolium leaf hairiness is not always easy to see. It make the long, narrow blades appear coarsely surfaced. The dark blades bulge beside their sunken midribs. The opposite leaf bases join in a yellowish rim around the stem. The leaf bases, maybe to be considered short petioles, angle up before the blades in picture spread rather than droop.
The plant uses neighbouring vegetation to climb, so other plant leaves tend to be spotted in the photos (Euston-Brown and Kruger, 2023; Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist; https://biogardens.org).
