This thriving, agreeably coloured Solanum linnaeanum plant was seen near Greyton during September. It bears both flowers and fruits. The yellow ones are conspicuous, the smaller buff-coloured fruits are desiccated and wrinkled, closer to releasing their seeds. The sepals on the backs of these fruits are already reflexed, veering away from the fruits.
The pale stems are sparsely spined. Some younger parts are more enthusiastically armed for eventualities prying on the minds of the inexperienced normally entrusted with minding boundaries. Age may bring serenity, losing the sharp preparedness of the belligerent. One mature plant body may project a wide range of attributes, tended to be found in communities, less in individuals, especially young ones (Euston-Brown and Kruger, 2023; Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Manning, 2007; iNaturalist).
