A spreading Lippia rehmannii bush in grassland or bushveld is usually dense from branching much. Not all upper branches maintain their early vertical growth direction, while side-branchlets are rarely erect. More shoots sprout around the original stem from the ground as the plant ages (Germishuizen and Clarke, 2003; Van Wyk and Malan, 1997; iNaturalist).
