Ledebouria sandersonii flowers

The brightly coloured flowers of Ledebouria sandersonii nod in many-flowered racemes on longish, flower-coloured pedicels. There are often several racemes simultaneously from a bulb.

The six tepals are mostly lilac to pink, sometimes with green on the keels. The recurving tepals in picture are brighter on the inside than out, their tips flat or truncate but for a whitish protrusion in the centre of each.

The six anthers on exserted filament tips are here cream and black, the conspicuous green ovary of an open flower superior and three-loculed.
