Strophanthus luteolus leaves

The simple, opposite leaves of Strophanthus luteolus are obovate, elliptic or ovate with entire margins that are faintly hairy, the tips pointed or rounded. The thickish petioles are from 1 mm to 5 mm long. The blades are darker green above than below, with four to six pairs of lateral veins ascending from the midrib showing strongly in its lower part. The net-veining is conspicuous. The latex is clear, white or yellow.

Leaf dimensions are from 2,5 cm to 6,5 cm long and from 1 cm to 3 cm wide (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Pooley, 1998; Germishuizen and Fabian, 1982; iNaturalist).
