Xylotheca tettensis style on the ovary

The longish style of a bisexual Xylotheca tettensis flower protrudes conspicuously above the stamens. The whitish stigma branches at the style tip are short and angular. There are as many of them as the placentas inside the skin of the ovary, probably up to eight.

The green, ovoid ovary is visible among the diverging ring of many stamens (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist; https://www.worldfloraonline.org).
