The persmalva or Pelargonium magenteum may be found scattered in large stands among other shrubs in the veld where they grow; spectacular in flower. The plants are not shy of scrambling over their neighbours.
The species had a name change from P. rhodanthum, recognizing the flower colour in the current name. The white colour in picture is probably the older flowers transforming.
