This flower of Gladiolus rehmannii has suffered: its tepals, especially the outer ones have served as food to something hungry, probably an insect. Still, the green inside the tube where the tepals are joined is interesting to see.
The three stigma branches at the tip of the style can just be discerned below the dorsal tepal. There are also some creamy oblong anthers where the throat widens. The triangular yellow nectar guides on the two lateral inner tepals are clear to see. Note the spotty or mottled pink colouring close to the nectar guides and the fine translucence of the veins nearer the perimeter of the corolla.
The blooming season of G. rehmannii is autumn.
