Masses of flowers may cover an Asparagus aethiopicus shrub at the peak of its flowering season. This would happen at the end of summer and early autumn, although the season is longer.

The fragrant flowers in such numbers bring about a strong sweet scent that turns the inflorescence into a highly traded marketplace for busy pollinators on sunny mornings (Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005; Wikipedia).
