Kalanchoe sexangularis inflorescence

The inflorescence of Kalanchoe sexangularis is a many-flowered terminal thyrse growing on a long, erect stalk. A few open flowers are present among many buds and spent flowers in the photo.

Each flower of K. sexangularis has four pale yellow to cream-coloured spreading lobes that taper to acute tips. The flower tube bulges around the ovary, the corolla is urn-shaped. Tiny bracts are visible on the branching stems of the thyrse.

Flowering commences in late winter, continuing through spring (Smith, et al, 2017; Smith and Crouch, 2009; Germishuizen and Fabian, 1982; iNaturalist).
