    Tritoniopsis parviflora spike

    Tritoniopsis parviflora spike
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

A many-flowered spike of Tritoniopsis parviflora is a festive affair. The upper flowers are still emerging from the bud stage while those at the bottom have already lost favour with the pollinators.

Holding some flowers at the ready for visiting hours as long as the spike has merchandise, must please customers and result in numerous visits. This serves the main purpose of achieving a maximum number of pollinated flowers for yielding viable seed, the long term goal behind these brief colourful celebrations.
