An abundance of succulent Anacampseros arachnoides leaves form the dense branch-tip rosettes on lengthening and multiplying stems as the plant spreads in favourable conditions. The deltoid leaves, swollen triangles acutely pointed, hide the stems. Here the leaves are clearly too heavy for any stem to lift a tip.
The leaves are alternate and simple, the green ones newly exposed. The fine cobweb covering over the leaves varies on A. arachnoides plants from being about absent to woollier than this. The spider analogy suggested by the Latin specific name features in the cobwebby appearance.
Some leaf tips in picture curve down beak-like as they attenuate. The leaves are green, purple, brown or yellowish, the colours partly age-related (Smith and Crouch, 2009; iNaturalist).
