    Pelargonium sidoides leaves

    Pelargonium sidoides leaves
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The long-stalked leaves of this mountainside Pelargonium sidoides plant are lush, still the flower stalks are much longer than those of the leaves.

The elaborate lobes at the leaf bases make them heart-shaped. The lobing varies in this species on the same plant, sometimes elaborate on some blades, almost absent on others. Sunken veins radiate from the base of all leaves. Toothing is small to minimal or debatable. The blade surfaces are dull to dark green, sometimes greyer from faint hairs and variably wavy (iNaturalist; www.plantzafrica.com).
