Around the three Wahlenbergia albens flowers in picture still in possession of their petals, there are many older ones that only retain the five short and always more durable sepals. The sepals have erect, acute tips around the thickly rounded ovary, slightly flat-topped and pale.
Small clusters of leaves and flowers are scattered along the straight, woody stems covered in purplish bark.
Flowering happens from before midspring to after midsummer (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; http://worldfloraonline.org).
