Lachnaea filamentosa many stamens, yellow anthers
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

Exserting only half their stamens, four of the eight in each Lachnaea filamentosa flower, there is still a profusion of them on the many-flowered head in picture. The sometimes curved white filaments angle away individually above their flower centres. The species is named for its filaments (Manning 2007; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist).
